BPO Summit Philippines 2008

After months of blog-less life, I am back at last. As McArthur said, “I shall return”. So am I. Been busy this past months.

So, what’s new? Nothings new… Just kidding. I have a new job, since the last company I’ve been with was hit by the global crisis… Good for them… hahahahaha

Just this December 2 & 3, I’ve been to Crowne Plaza for the BPO summit. BPO or Business Process Outsourcing is not actually new but booming industry today.

The BPO Summit Philippines conference provides a platform that discusses business issues and industry trends for the various non-voice sectors. Plenary sessions in the morning will present a macro-analysis of global and local industry trends from the perspectives of industry executives, analysts, and government officials.

In the afternoon, break-out sessions divided into four industry tracks – Back Office, Transcription, Digital Animation, and Game Development – and a bonus SME Track will discuss sector-specific business and technology issues for industry players as well as offer master classes for practitioners and students.

I attended the game development track which discusses the gaming industry in the Philippines. It also provides basic information on how the industry is running on the global market and what will be its future.

Below are the associations / organizations that are included in the Philippine BPO Industry.
