Rice shortage and global warming

Rice shortage is getting in the nerves of most Filipinos due to the fact that most of us treat rice as the main element. Without it, we feel incomplete and it’s like we are not getting a full meal. However, not only the Philippines experience such hardship as countries like Vietnam, Malaysia and other Asian county have also such occurrence.

Study shows that the continuous and unstoppable drop in rice production these days is cause by global warming. The time will come that rice will be grow in lesser rate and it will be replaced by camote. This can be true if the government or even every people in this earth will address to the threat now.

Since there are about 8 or more billions of people around the world that depend on rice as their staple food, the lack of rice production is felt as the Philippines alone consumes thousands sack of rice a day. And as population grows even more, the demand for rice also increases which could eventually lead to rice shortage in due time.

What can you do about it? How can we stop or even prevent global warming from heightening up? A simple question that is difficult to answer isn’t? However, if you only think thoroughly about it, you can give the answers for yourself. You can do something about it and you can start with you own neighborhood. Proper garbage disposal, recycling, and proper use of natural resources are among the effective ways to prevent global warming from amplifying.

Do your share and everything will be back to normal. Save mother earth as this is the only place we can go. Save the rice and keep it in the table of all families in the Asia and the whole world.
